Over 1,200 flights have been canceled at Chicago's O'Hare and Midway airports Monday as a blast of winter weather hit the city and surrounding suburbs.
As of 5 p.m., 1,114 flights have been canceled at O'Hare International Airport, and travelers are still dealing with delays of approximately 100 minutes on average, according to the Chicago Department of Aviation.
At Midway, 98 flights have been canceled, with short delays of around 15 minutes on average.
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for portions of northern Illinois, but snow is expected to begin tapering off near Chicago in the afternoon hours.
