Mayor Daley today suggested he was planning an emergency council meeting should the Supreme Court rule against handgun bans, which they are expected to do Monday.
Daley said the meeting would be called to immediately put in place new restrictions.
"Guns kill," Daley said while attending "Safe Haven Safe Summer" at Bethlehem Star Church on the city's South Side. "We will wait for decision and follow thru."
Daley also commented on the state budget crisis impacting schools.
"We pay our state taxes, send it back to us," he said. "It's our fair share."
