The Chicago Sky got big performances out of four of their starters as they beat the New York Liberty by a score of 101-92 on Wednesday night at Wintrust Arena.
Allie Quigley led the Sky with 22 points and added three rebounds, two assists, and two steals in the victory. Jantel Lavender notched a double-double as she scored 20 points and hauled down 10 rebounds, and she contributed four assists to the Sky cause.
Courtney Vandersloot and Diamond DeShields scored 16 points apiece as the Sky moved their record to 13-9 on the season.
Tina Charles led all scorers in the game with 24 points for the Liberty while pulling down five rebounds and dishing out six assists.
The Sky trailed by seven points at halftime, but used a huge 42-point fourth quarter surge to pull away. DeShields made a pair of free throws with 3:27 remaining in the game to push the Sky out in front, and then Quigley made a jumper with less than three minutes to go to extend the lead. Vandersloot and Quickly each made a pair of free throws to complete a 9-0 run that helped the Sky to the victory.
The Sky will now head out west for a quick-two game road trip starting on Friday night in Las Vegas.
