Illinois is home to the wealthiest city in the Midwest, according to a new report.
Naperville was ranked as the richest city in the region and the 19th wealthiest city in the nation in a ranking by finance site NerdWallet.
The report looked at income, home value and credit availability in 475 American cities with at least 65,000 people.
According to Nerdwallet, the Midwest is the most affordable region when it comes to wealthiest cities. The top 10 cities in the area had a median home value between $197,000 and $365,000.
Naperville’s median home value hit close $365,000.
By comparison, the wealthiest city in the country, Palo Alto, California, had a median home value of $2.5 million.
Median household income for the Midwest, however, was competitive with that of other cities in the wealthiest lists, the report claimed.

Other Illinois cities to make the Midwest list were Arlington Heights, Evanston, Palatine, Bolingbrook, Skokie, Schaumburg, Aurora and Bloomington.
Bolingbrook, Evanston, Arlington Heights and Palatine were also named among the top 100 cities in the nation.
