Chicago Teen Charged with Macing CTA Bus Driver

A South Chicago teen was reportedly ordered held in lieu of $90,000 bail Sunday after she allegedly maced a Chicago Transit Authority bus driver Friday.

Brianna K. Emery, 17, was charged with felony aggravated battery to a transit employee in connection to the incident, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Police reportedly responded to the scene in the 2600 block of East 79th Street after a bus driver reported he had been sprayed with mace after a fare dispute with a rider.

Emery allegedly sprayed the driver in the face and fled the scene going north of Colfax Avenue. She was reportedly found in the 7900 block of South Kingston and identified by the victim.

Emery was found carrying a canister of “Back Off” dog repellent when she was arrested, the Tribune reported.
