The Chicago Bulls will likely get a high draft pick after this season, so it only makes sense that the league has decided that the city should host the draw next year.
According to the league, the NBA Draft Lottery will be held in Chicago on May 15 of next year. The lottery, which features the 14 teams that did not make the NBA playoffs, determines the selection order in the first round of the draft, and is a nationally televised event.
The Bulls have only won the draft lottery once, winning the number one pick in 2008 despite having less than a two percent chance to get the pick. They ended up using the selection on Derrick Rose, who went on to win NBA MVP honors with the team in 2011.
After the draft lottery, Chicago will also host the NBA Draft Combine, which will take place from May 16 to 20, according to the league.
The 2018 NBA Draft will be held on June 18, and a site has not yet been named for the selection show.
