Chicago White Sox Game Postponed Due to Severe Weather

NBC 5’s Brant Miller gives us the latest weather forecast for Tuesday on a boat along the Chicago River.

The Chicago White Sox game against the Detroit Tigers, which had been delayed earlier has now been postponed due to stormy weather in the Chicago area.

The game was scheduled to take place at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday at the Guaranteed Rate Field but was under a "rain delay" until further notice, according to their official Twitter account.

The team announced the game will be made up on Friday Sept. 27 instead, as part of a straight doubleheader beginning at 3:40 p.m. and the originally scheduled contest will begin about 30 minutes after the conclusion of the opener.

Fans with game tickets, parking coupons and Huntington Bank Stadium Club passes to Tuesday evening's game will be able to attend both games on Sept. 27 with their ticket and parking pass.

The National Weather Service had issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Kane and Cook counties until 7:45 p.m.

No other information was immediately known.
