Two Injured in South Side Bus Crash

None of the injuries appear to be life-threatening, officials say

A child is among two people hospitalized following a bus crash on the South Side on Friday afternoon.

The Chicago Transit Authority bus -- a Route 9 -- was stopped when it was rear-ended by another vehicle at about 1:45 p.m., officials said.

Five ambulances responded to the accident, at 37th Street and Ashland Avenue, said fire department spokesman Richard Rosado.

A child was taken to University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital and another person was taken to Saint Anthony Hospital. Both were in good condition, he said.
