If you thought you had the ultimate man cave, guess again. That honor belongs to Chicago native and passionate Cubs fan Stewart McVicar.
McVicar completed the sports shrine at the end of August. Located in his basement, it features 12 different video displays, including a 92-inch projection screen and a 65-inch Samsung Smart TV. It also has seven different audio areas.
That's all, right? Far from it.
There are games scattered throughout for his and his guests' entertainment. McVicar not only owns a wide array of video games, but he has pinball machines, an air hockey table and a foosball table. And since you can't have sports without booze, the man cave comes equipped with two bars, beer on tap and in the fridge, and a full spread of liquor.
"I have been a Chicago Cubs fan my entire life," McVicar said. "I wanted to build the ultimate place to watch sports with my friends."
Woven throughout the entire room is a sports collector's dream. McVicar plastered the walls of his man cave with Cubs logos, jerseys and other memorabilia. He even has a Cubs sign with "McVicar" glowing in neon letters.
Every piece of the space has meaning, he said. The season-ticket holder spent years attending games and conventions, collecting team memorabilia and autographs.
He's also a die-hard Bears fan but passed on a combo theme to pay tribute to the history of his favorite North Side team. "It exceeded my expectations," he said.
In May a photo of his in-progress man cave was chosen by MLB Fan Cave as the ultimate man cave.
The photos were taken by Sonic Low Voltage, the company responsible for installing McVicar's visual and audio systems.
