Mayor Daley said he's losing confidence in the company hired to run the city's parking meters.
Following the revelation of more problems with new pay-and-display boxes -- specifically, that many of the boxes display the incorrect time -- Daley said he's "slowly but surely" becoming incensed.
“That’s unacceptable. They have to void those tickets,” he told the Sun-Times.
But, the mayor said he won't cancel the 75-year, $1.15 billion lease. The privatization of the meters helped the city plug a hole in the city’s 2009 budget.
Daley said he'll keep complaining to the company.
As for the Chicago Parking Meters LLC, they said that even though all meter boxes are synced to the atomic clock, time discrepancies are unavoidable.
