Tom Cross spokesman said he believe's slight lead will be maintained

The vote margin between the top candidates for Illinois treasurer is still razor thin and no one is conceding.
With 99 percent of precincts reporting, there's less than 1 percentage point between former House Republican Leader Tom Cross and Democratic state Sen. Michael Frerichs.
Frerichs spokesman Dave Clarkin said Wednesday that he's waiting for every ballot to be counted. Frerichs spent Wednesday with his daughter in the Champaign area where he's from.
Cross spokesman Kevin Artl says there are more votes to count, but he believes the slight lead over Frerichs will be maintained. He says Cross spent Wednesday making calls and thanking supporters.
The treasurer post was the only open race on the ballot. Treasurer Dan Rutherford sought a gubernatorial run over re-election. He lost in the GOP primary.
