Chicago Police have released a description of a hit-and-run driver who sped off after striking a man on the northwest side.
Police said a silver SUV, possibly a 1998-2000 Toyota RAV4, slammed into a 52-year-old man riding his bike in the 4100 block of West School Street at about 3:50 p.m. Monday.
The man was ejected from his bike and into the windshield of the vehicle before landing in the street, police said. According to police, the driver got out of his car, leaned off the victim and asked "Are you OK?" before quickly fleeing the scene through a nearby alley.
The man was critically injured in the crash.
The driver is described as a male Hispanic about 29-30 years old standing about 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-19 with a forearm tattoo wearing a black or gray graphic T-shirt.
Anyone who sees the vehicle associated with the incident is asked to call police at 312-745-4521.
