The Chicago Blackhawks say that forward Drake Caggiula will miss Wednesday night’s game against the Vegas Golden Knights after being placed into the NHL’s concussion protocol.
Caggiula, who had originally been ruled out for the game due to illness, is now being evaluated for a concussion, according to head coach Jeremy Colliton.
“There are some symptoms, so we want to be sure,” Colliton told reporters, including Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times.
In 15 games so far this season, Caggiula has scored three goals and picked up an assist for the Blackhawks, posting a minus-2 rating. In 41 career games with Chicago, Caggiula has eight goals and eight assists.
Ryan Carpenter will rejoin the lineup after missing the last two games following the death of his grandmother.
