Just days after being bought out by the Chicago Bulls, Dwyane Wade has found his new home.
According to a statement issued by the guard, Wade will be signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The decision was first revealed by a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Tuesday.
"There's no better place to be right now to continue to play and compete at the highest level," Wade said. "Cleveland believes in my talents and what I can bring to a championship contender both as a player and leader."
Wade, who was bought out by the Bulls on Sunday, will reunite with former teammate LeBron James in Cleveland. The duo won two NBA championships together as members of the Miami Heat, the team that Wade spent his first 13 seasons with before signing with the Bulls in 2016.
"I look forward to reuniting and playing alongside my brother LeBron," Wade said. "We've already won two championships together and I hope we can win a third."
Wade will also be joining up with former Bulls point guard Derrick Rose, who signed a free agent deal in Cleveland this summer. Rose won the NBA MVP award with the Bulls in 2011, and was traded by the team last summer.
The San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder had also made efforts to sign Wade, according to reports.
