A steel refinery was burning on Chicago’s Southeast side Monday night as firefighters responded to the blaze.
The roof of the building, on the 10700 block of South Burley Avenue, was ablaze about 4:49 p.m., Chicago Fire Department officials confirmed. Officials also called the incident a level one HazMat situation.
"Dangerous items in building," The Chicago Fire Department tweeted about 5:06 p.m. "No water avaiable yet. No Hydrants."
The 106th Street bridge east of Torrence Avnue was closed to traffic about 5:12 p.m.
