Fire damaged a building at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee late Wednesday night.
An official from the Gurnee Fire Department told NBC Chicago that firefighters rushed to the theme park at about 9 p.m. to deal with a fire at a building near the Grand Music Hall.
Crews quickly put out the flames but not before the fire caused damage an official estimated at $32,000. The Grand Music Hall sustained some exterior damage.
A spokeswoman for the park confirmed there was a fire "in a backstage area of the park."
"The area sustained minimal damage and there were no injuries," said Katy Enrique, a communications manager with the park.
It was unclear Thursday morning what caused the fire.
Six Flags Great America opens to the public on May 3.
