The Chicago woman convicted of killing her mother at a Bali resort in 2014 is no longer challenging her uncle over access to a contested trust fund.
Heather Mack, who is currently serving a ten year prison sentence in Indonesia for the murder of Sheila Von Wiese-Mack, has reached a settlement with the trustee: her uncle, Bill Wiese.
Details of the agreement are being kept under wraps. However, both parties told NBC 5 Investigates they are satisfied.
“We’re glad the civil case is over,” said attorney Vanessa Favia, who is representing Mack and her young daughter, Stella.
Stella was born during Mack’s criminal trial and is now being raised by a family outside of the prison.
The settlement comes after a three year court battle in the Circuit Court of Cook County, in which a judge allowed Mack limited access to the trust to help pay her criminal defense attorney in Bali.
Later, Wiese allowed for the trust fund to cover many of Stella’s food, clothing and medical supply expenses.

Stella’s father, Tommy Schaefer, was also convicted of killing Sheila Von Wiese-Mack. He is serving an eighteen year prison sentence in Bali.
