Heavy winds and rain have made the weekend an unpleasant one for the Chicago area, and some areas reported gusts of up to 50 MPH or more.
In Shorewood on Saturday morning, a wind gust of 52 miles per hour was reported, according to the National Weather Service. It was one of three wind gusts that exceeded the 50 MPH threshold, according to the NWS.

Because of the high winds, a Lakeshore Flood Warning has been issued for Cook and Lake counties in northeast Illinois, and a Wind Advisory remains in effect for all of northern Illinois, including Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, and McHenry counties until 7 p.m. Saturday night.
