The popular Ice Castles attraction in Lake Geneva reopened Friday after temporarily closing following frigid, life-threatening temperatures across the Midwest and then a fast, unseasonable warmup.
"It’s never an easy decision to close temporarily due to warm (or cold) weather," an Ice Castles spokeswoman said. "But we do so with the guests’ experience and safety in mind."
Made entirely from ice, the Ice Castles in Lake Geneva feature tunnels, fountains, slides, thrones and cascading towers of ice, all illuminated by around 120 color-changing LED lights.
The structure is expected to hit 30-35 feet by the end of the season.
General Admission tickets range from $15.95 and $18.95, and child admission costs between $10.95 and $15.95, depending on day of attendance
