After one of his former teammates called out the Indianapolis Colts for a lack of effort, new Chicago Bears linebacker Jerrell Freeman had some strong words for Coby Fleener on Monday.
In a text message sent to NBC 5's Indianapolis affiliate WTHR, Freeman addressed Fleener’s criticism and called out his former teammate for going behind his back with his remarks, saying he "didn’t have the [guts]" and "must’ve been looking in the mirror when he did the interview."
“I despise guys like that,” he said. “That’s what little girls do, talk about you when you’re not around. I’m a grown man. If I see something I don’t like, I’m going to have a face-to-face convo with that player/players and we are going to get an understanding! I feel like I had a hand in building what’s over there (In Indianapolis), so he’s s*** on me, too ... That’s a b**** move ... You can print all that, brotha!"
The response came after Fleener called out his Colts teammates for “going along for the ride” last season after quarterback Andrew Luck went down with an injury. Fleener made the remarks during his first conference call after signing with the New Orleans Saints last week.
