Jon Stewart Returns to TV Friday Night

Comedian Jon Stewart will be back behind the anchor's desk on Friday night, but instead of hosting 'The Daily Show,' he'll be doing something a bit different.

According to a press release issued by ESPN, Stewart will anchor the 6 p.m. edition of the iconic show, which will be broadcast live from the Department of Defense Warrior Games at the United Center in Chicago.

Stewart, who stepped down from his role as host of “The Daily Show” in 2015, has sporadically appeared on television since then, but he will be back in the anchor’s chair when he hosts the show with ESPN icon Hannah Storm.

Storm, the daughter of a Marine, will appear with Stewart in live hits from the festivities at the United Center during the 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. SportsCenter’s, the network announced.

“Being the daughter of a Marine and having a lot of pride in being from a Marine Corps family, I was so excited when I heard about this event,” Storm told ESPN. “The meaning of this competition, and how inspirational it is, is really close to my heart.”

The Warrior Games, which got underway last weekend, will run through Saturday night. The Sitting Volleyball and Wheelchair Basketball gold and bronze medal games will be held at the United Center on Friday night, and the Closing Ceremony will be held at Navy Pier on Saturday night.
