It’s not an uncommon story for police officers or firefighters to race into a burning building to save a person or an animal, but a pair of suburban sheriff’s deputies made a rescue on Thursday that can only be classified as unusual.
According to the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office, two deputies ran into a smoke-filled residence in Bourbonnais early Thursday morning to save a person’s pet snake. The officers were able to locate the reptile and carry it to safety, and the department posted a photo on their Twitter page:
According to the Bourbonnais Fire Department, the fire occurred on North Arthur Burch Drive early Thursday morning, where they found that an aquarium stand had caught fire. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
