Chicago Blackhawks forward Kirby Dach suited up for his second career NHL game on Tuesday night against the Vegas Golden Knights, and it's a contest he'll never forget as he scored his first career goal in the game.
Dach, who was picked with the third overall selection in the 2019 NHL Draft, was standing alongside the Vegas net late in the first period of the game when defenseman Olli Maatta rifled a shot toward the cage:
The puck ended up simply bouncing off of Dach and into the back of the net, giving the Blackhawks a 1-0 lead and the first goal of his young Blackhawks career.
Dach is in the second game of what will potentially be a nine-game tryout with the Blackhawks. After those nine games, the Blackhawks have to decide whether to send him back to his junior hockey league team, or if they want to keep him for the remainder of the season and burn a year from his three-year entry level contract.
