A man was wounded in a shooting Thursday evening near the Hawthorn Hills Shopping Center in Vernon Hills, according to police.
Authorities said the shooting occurred at approximately 6:48 p.m. in the 700 block of North Milwaukee Avenue. The man, who was shot multiple times, was taken to a local hospital for treatment, though his condition was unknown.
Police said a suspect in the shooting was identified, with a preliminary investigation indicating the shooting stemmed from an altercation between the victim and suspect, who knew each other.
