Loyola Academy‘s girls soccer coach has been fired over “complaints alleging inappropriate or offensive comments” he made to team members, the school confirmed Tuesday.
Craig Snower, head of the varsity girls’ soccer coach, was fired last week as an investigation was launched by authorities, the school said.
“Loyola Academy is committed to maintaining a safe environment for our students and their well-being is our highest priority,” the school said in a statement. “An investigation has been opened, and Loyola Academy is fully cooperating with the appropriate authorities.”
Snower was also recently released from his position as the girls’ senior director for the suburban FC United soccer club.
“We are aware of the situation regarding Craig Snower and the Loyola Academy Girls’ Soccer program,” an FC United spokesperson said in a statement. “Mr. Snower is no longer affiliated with FC United in any way.”
FC United declined to comment any further on why Snower was no longer with the club.
An attorney for Snower declined to comment on the allegations.
