“Making a Murderer” is coming to town.
Defense attorneys Dean Strang and Jerry Buting, the men who devoted years of their life fighting tooth and nail for Steven Avery’s freedom, will host a ticketed event at the Chicago Theatre on Friday, June 3 that allows passionate followers of the Netflix show to have an honest, interactive conversation on the hot-button issues that sparked such debate across the country.
The event is one in a series of talks called "A Conversation on Justice" being hosted by the two in select cities through the summer. Tickets go on sale Friday at noon and can be purchased on the tour’s website.
During the tour, the high-powered attorneys will delve into the aspects of the highly controversial case that weren’t seen on TV and, more importantly maybe, reflect on the broader implications of the criminal justice system.
“I think this is an opportunity when we can provide an unfiltered discussion about the Avery trial and the lessons that were learned,” Buting said in a video posted on their Facebook page. "The things we can’t do when the media talks to us and they only have two minutes of the nightly news."
Each night will also feature a Q&A portion giving the audience a chance to ask their own burning “Making a Murderer” questions directly to Strang and Buting.

“In essence, this is sort of like director’s cut of [the] experience we had,” Buting said.
