A Kane County man has been arrested and is facing felony charges after allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl.
30-year-old Jose Salas Jr. of Carpentersville was arrested and appeared in a Lake County court on Friday, where his bond was set at $1 million in the case.
According to police, Salas, the former Director of Youth Soccer at a sports complex in Elgin, allegedly befriended the victim over the course of several months, and then took her to a motel in Barrington, where he allegedly assaulted her.
Salas is facing four felony counts of Criminal Sexual Assault, and two felony counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse.
Each count of Criminal Sexual Assault carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
