Man Fired Shots at Couple Riding in SUV on Lake Shore Drive, Police Say

Police are looking for two men in a tan pick-up truck

A couple escaped injury Friday after they told police someone shot at their SUV during the middle of the morning rush hour on Chicago’s Lake Shore Drive.

At around 7:30 a.m., a couple called police from a BP gas station, and said they were shot at while on Lake Shore Drive near 47th Street, Chicago police officials confirmed.

Jason McCauley and his girlfriend were stopped at a light on 47th Street when a man ‘hanging out of a truck’ shouted something at the couple then fired shots, police said.

McCauley’s girlfriend, who was driving the SUV, went on Lake Shore Drive to get away, but her back rear tire eventually deflated.

Jason McCauley’s sister, Shanna, owns the vehicle the couple was riding in.

Shanna McCauley told NBC 5 her brother was on his way to work at the time.

“They [the suspects] drove up, one boy was hanging out the car window shooting at their car,” she said. “[They’re] so lucky they didn’t have no kids in the car with them. That wouldn’t be right at all.”
