Commuters ran into big delays on Wednesday evening after Metra trains were halted following the discovery of a body near train tracks on Chicago's North Side, according to officials.
According to an agency spokesperson, a body was found near Paulina on Wednesday afternoon, leading to service on numerous lines being delayed or halted in the area.
A cause of death was not immediately known.
According to alerts from Metra, all inbound and outbound trains were halted near Union Station on the Milwaukee District North and West train lines, as well as North-Central Service trains.
Those trains have since resumed service, but with extensive delays.
All Union Pacific North and Union Pacific West trains near Ogilvie were also impacted, with service resuming after delayed departures.
