The son of former Bears coach Mike Ditka was reportedly arrested over the weekend.
Michael P. Ditka, 53, was arrested Saturday at Rivers Casino in Des Plaines on a charge of battery, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Ditka’s attorney, Robert Ritacca, told the Tribune that the charge was a misdemeanor and stemmed from a “fight or an argument.” Ritacca said the incident was not domestic-related.
The younger Ditka is expected to appear in Cook County court next month.
It is not Michael Ditka’s first run-in with the law. He was arrested at least three previous times for driving under the influence.
Prosecutors, however, dropped the latest DUI charge in 2012 after a judge granted a motion from Ditka’s attorney overturning his arrest and suppressing evidence.
