Attorney General Lisa Madigan wants you to know your voting rights before Tuesday's election.
Madigan announced Monday she's sending out 150 teams of assistant attorneys general to monitor elections throughout Illinois, "to ensure polling places are accessible and that Illinoisans’ voting rights are protected."
Voting begins at 6 a.m. Tuesday and closes at 7 p.m. If you make a mistake on a paper ballot, you have the right to get a replacement ballot.
No one can try to influence you as a voter within 100 feet of the polling place. That includes signage and campaign workers.
Oh, and you can take unpaid time off from work to vote if you've already applied for the time with your boss, but no more than two successive hours.
If you suspect improper activities, call Madigan's office. Chicago and northern Illinois voters can call 866-536-3496, downstate voters can call 866-559-6812.
