A multi-vehicle crash in Skokie overnight left at least one person seriously injured and closed all southbound lanes of Interstate 94 during the Thursday morning rush hour, police said.
The crash happened just before 5 a.m. on the roadway near Church Street, just before Dempster.
Police said three people were transported from the scene, one in serious condition. One other person had non-life threatening injuries but the condition of the third person was not immediately known.
All southbound lanes remained shut down as of 6 a.m. as Illinois State Police investigated.
Details on what happened weren't immediately known.
Commuters were being urged to exit at Old Orchard and re-enter the expressway at Touhy.
