A Chicago suburb has been named among the 10 safest cities to raise a child in the U.S., according to a new report.
Naperville was ranked at number nine in the country, according to the list from Safewise, a company that rates home security systems.
The ranking looked at violent crime rates, property crime rates, graduation rates, the number of sex offenders per capita and more. The list included cities with a population of 75,000 or more, the report states.
According to the ranking, the safest city on the list was Carmel, Indiana, followed by Newton, Massachusetts; Johns Creek, Georgia; Fishers, Indiana; and Flower Mound, Texas.
Other Midwest cities made the top 50, including Plymouth, Minnesota at no. 6, Troy, Michigan at no. 19, Farmington Hills, Michigan at No. 22, O’Fallon, Missouri at no. 26, and Rochester, Minnesota at no. 44.
