A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving two other vehicles near the Arlington Heights and Mount Prospect border, police said.
According to authorities, the crash occurred at around 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Northwest Highway and Waterman Road, with most of the crash occurring in Arlington Heights jurisdiction.
Officials said a Genesis coupe was traveling eastbound on Northwest Highway nearing Waterman Road while a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling westbound on the same street, in front of a Hyundai sedan that was also traveling westbound.
The driver of the Genesis coupe, a 16-year-old, made a left turn and struck both the motorcycle and sedan.
The motorcyclist was discovered unresponsive by first responders and was pronounced dead at the scene following resuscitation efforts by paramedics.
Northwest Highway is closed in both directions in Arlington Heights between Gregory Street and Evanston Avenue due to a major crash, according to police.
Traffic on Waterman Road south of Gregory Street has been blocked off as well as authorities investigate the crash.

The driver was cited for failure to yield right of way while turning left and for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, authorities said.
