A police chase caught on camera by NBC Chicago's Sky 5 chopper Tuesday showed a vehicle weaving in and out of traffic on a suburban expressway before exiting and sparking a massive foot chase that ended with police surrounding a home.
According to Lincolnwood police, a Hyundai Sonata was reported stolen at around 8:15 a.m. Tuesday morning, with an undercover police vehicle later spotting the vehicle on the Edens Expressway at around 4 p.m.
The chase was first spotted on the inbound Edens Expressway near Caldwell and Peterson in Chicago's northern suburbs, according to Mike Lorber in NBC Sky 5.
In the footage, the vehicle was seen exiting the expressway at Peterson Avenue before continuing west then heading north on LeClaire and then traveling down Estes toward Lavergne, just south of Touhy Avenue in Skokie.
The man abandoned the vehicle on Estes before fleeing on foot, sparking a large police chase involving several police officers. The man was caught on camera hopping a fence between two homes before he disappeared.
Police were later seen surrounding a home in the 4900 block of West Estes Avenue and several officers eventually took the person into custody.

Two witnesses who live near where the suspect was taken into custody said they saw a man running just on the outside of their house, with police moving in shortly afterwards.
"I saw a lot of police jumping my fence. I think something's going on. I didn’t want it around my house so I went out to look for him and I found him, and got the police to dig him out," witness David Daniels said.

Daniels said he feared the man could have gotten inside somebody's home and hid from law enforcement.
Fellow witness Lan Trinh said she saw the suspect running from her kitchen window.
"I call him, 'David, look. Someone tried to jump over the fence!' And at that time, police jumped over the fence, police knocked on the door. I said ‘I saw the guy there! But I don’t know where he is now,'” Trinh said.
The suspect was hiding in a bush just outside their home, where he was taken into custody with the assistance of Daniels.
"All very nice people. They kept coming over to me, shaking my hand," Daniels said of his interaction with police as the suspect was taken into custody.
According to authorities, Lincolnwood police, Skokie police and Glencoe police assisted in taking the suspect into custody in a "coordinated effort."
