Police were investigating a report of a fatal shooting Monday afternoon in northwest suburban Long Grove.
The Lake County Sheriff’s office confirmed officers were responding to a scene around 12:20 p.m. at the 5400 block of North Tall Oaks Drive.
According to Lake County Sheriff's spokesman Christopher Covelli, one person was shot and killed at the scene.
Covelli did not say if a suspect was in custody in the shooting but said there is "no threat to the community."
A statement that was later issued said detectives were speaking with an individual who was present during the time of the incident.
Details on what happened weren't immediately clear but Covelli said the incident was "isolated."
Officials also said an autopsy was being scheduled.
