Police are warning residents about a series of armed robberies reported within six hours overnight Friday morning on the West and North Sides.
In each incident, the offenders were four to six black men, approximately 14 to 23 years old. They got out of a silver or white Chevrolet Malibu, displayed a handgun and robbed the victims of their property, police said.
The robberies occurred on March 18:
- At 12:01 a.m. in the 100 block of S Menard Ave in the South Austin neighborhood
- At 12:20 a.m. in the 4700 block of W Harrison St in West Garfield Park
- At 3:56 a.m. in the 1800 block of W North Ave in Bucktown
- At 6:10 a.m. in the 100 block of S Cicero Ave in South Austin
