Post Lolla Grant Park Repairs to Take Two Months

Festival organizers say repairs less than in year's past

Three days of partying like a rock star will require two months of recuperation.

At least when it comes to the damage done to certain areas of Grant Park following Lollapalooza 2013.

Lollapalooza promoters C3 Presents say better weather for this year's festival means the repairs and restoration of portions of the Grant Park grounds will be "minimal and swift."

As part of the C3's Lollapalooza deal with the city, the company must pay for the restoration of Grant Park following the music festival.

C3 officials say mulch removal and soil placement began Monday in Lower Hutchinson, Upper Hutchinson and Butler Field, and is expected to take most of the week.

Smaller areas will be cordoned off for up to two months to allow time for the grass to grow.

In 2011, torrential rain led to muddy conditions and a repair bill in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
