Prosecutors Reveal Disturbing Facebook Message Posted After Girl's Murder

Haunting message was posted under Kelli O'Laughlin's Facebook profile one day after she was found murdered, prosecutors said

9/11/14: The murder trial for Kelli O’Laughlin could wrap up as soon as tomorrow. On Thursday the medical examiner gave a graphic testimony showing autopsy photos of the 14 year old. Her parents had to leave the courtroom. NBC5’s Christian Farr reports.

Thursday's testimony in the murder trial of Kelli O'Laughlin marked a heart-wrenching day for the family of the 14-year-old suburban Chicago teen found brutally stabbed to death in 2011.

Graphic autopsy photos presented in court forced some of O'Laughlin's family to leave the room, and prosecutors revealed that a haunting message was posted under the teen's Facebook profile one day after she was found murdered.

During testimony on Thursday afternoon, LaGrange Police officer Patrick Fulla testified the message read, "Next time the b**** will do as told."

John Wilson Jr. is accused of stabbing O'Laughlin in her Indian Head Park home in the 6300 block of Keokuk Road on Oct. 27, 2011. Prosecutors said O'Laughlin walked in on Wilson after he broke into the home and was stabbed multiple times with an 8-inch carving knife from her kitchen.

The house was found ransacked, and a bowl of coins, O'Laughlin's cell phone and an iPod Touch were stolen.

O'Laughlin's mother, Brenda, described last week the haunting texts she received from her daughter's smartphone after the murder.

The first text came the day after O'Laughlin's death, asking "what Brenda?" The text was followed by another that read "love your pic," and the most haunting of all: "she wanted me to tell you something before I killed her."

Cook County Medical Examiner Stephen Cina on Thursday testified that O'Laughlin died from multiple stab wounds, 18 injuries in total, and said the fatal injury was a stab wound to the girl's chest that caused "massive internal bleeding."

The defense pointed out that Cina did not perform O'Laughlin's autopsy because he was not the medical examiner at the time of her death.

The trial could wrap up by the end of the week. Wilson is not expected to take the stand in his own defense.
