All Illinois Casinos to Close for 14 Days Starting Monday

World Health Organization Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus shares the latest information about the coronavirus pandemic.

All of Illinois casinos will close for 14 days starting Monday amid coronavirus concerns, according to the Illinois Gaming Board.

"The public health of patrons, casino employees, IGB staff, and others is of paramount importance," according to a news release from the gaming board. "The board is continuously monitoring developments and will update licensees and the public as frequently as possible."

Rivers Casino in Des Plaines previously announced it will suspend operations Sunday, March 15, for 14 days amid the coronavirus outbreak, casino officials announced in a news release Friday.
