Scenes From Chicago Saturday Protests Following the Death of George Floyd

Thousands took to the streets in downtown Chicago Saturday to protest the death of George Floyd, a black man who died after a police officer knelt on his neck in Minneapolis. Peaceful Chicago protests escalated in some cases, with protesters breaking storefront windows on Michigan Avenue, setting fires and damaging cars. In response, Mayor Lori Lightfoot enacted a 9 p.m. curfew for the city.
