5 Shot on Chicago's South Side

The victims were on the corner of 71st and State Streets when an unknown offender walked up and opened fire, police said

Five people were injured in a shooting on the city's South Side Wednesday evening.

The shooting occurred in the 7100 block of S State St in the Park Manor neighborhood at 8:04 p.m., according to Chicago Police. 

The victims were on the corner when an unknown offender walked up and opened fire, police said. 

Four victims were taken to area hospitals, according to fire officials, while police said the fifth victim self-transported to St. Bernard Hospital with non-life threatening wounds.

An adult male shot shot in the left thigh and a 20-year-old male shot in the arm and back were both taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where their conditions were stabilized. 

A 20-year-old man shot in chest and a 32-year-old female shot in head were both taken to Stroger Hospital, authorities said. They remain in critical, but stable condition. 

No one is in custody and detectives continue to investigate.
