One of Rod Blagojevich's former deputy governors has joined the Obama-Biden re-election campaign.
Sheila Nix has been named Chief of Staff to Vice President Joe Biden. She'll be based at the Obama for America headquarters in Chicago, POLITICO reported Monday.
Nix left the Blagojevich administration in June 2008 and for the last three years has been the executive director of ONE, a bipartisan advocacy organization co-founded by Bono. At ONE, Nix was responsible for advocacy, communications and campaign activities, according to the group's website.
She's worked in politics for roughly 20 years, having also served as Chief of Staff to Senators Bill Nelson of Florida and Bob Kerrey of Nebraska. She also worked on Bob Kerrey’s 1992 presidential campaign.
