Lord Stanley's Cup will make a second appearance in Chicago's gay pride parade on Sunday.
Blackhawks representatives, Ice Crew and the Stanley Cup will be carried on WGN Radio's float, according to a press release issued late Friday.
The Windy City Times, citing sources, reported before the official announcement that planning for the Cup's appearance had been going on for two weeks -- even before the Chicago Blackhawks secured the championship on June 15.
"Having The Cup at the parade is important because it shows the Blackhawks continued support of the LGBT community," team president Andrew Sobotka told ChicagoPride.com. "It's also important to have The Cup there because it's an exciting time for the city, and it should be celebrated by everyone."
Former Blackhawks defenseman Brent Sopel showed off the Stanley Cup during the 2010 pride parade.
