It appears Illinois' favorite fast-food restaurant has been decided.
A new study from Business Insider and Foursquare has revealed the most popular fast-food chains in each state, and in Illinois, chicken reigns supreme.
The study looked at which chains received the most visits on average in each state, basing their findings on the total number of visits the restaurant received divided by the number of locations in that particular state.
Chick-fil-A was listed as the top chain in Illinois, a trend that remained consistent across much of the country.
The fried-chicken eatery dominated across the U.S., being named most popular in all but 12 states, according to the report.
Other chains named in the most-popular list across the country include McDonald's, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, In-N-Out Burger, Wendy's, Raising Cane's, Culver's, Taco Bueno and White Castle.
