SWAT Situation Ends After 2 Hours on Chicago's NW Side

A Chicago Police SWAT team responded to a report of a robbery Thursday morning in the Dunning neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

Authorities responded to an anonymous call of a robbery in progress about 6 a.m. at a business in the 6800 block of West Addison, according to Chicago Police.

When police arrived, they were denied entry to the establishment, police said.

A SWAT team responded and after negotiations, everyone inside was safely removed at 8:12 a.m. and it was determined there was no robbery.

Addison was closed between Oak Park and Sayre, and the No. 152 Addison bus was rerouted in both directions to Irving Park between Narragansett and Harlem during the incident.
