Chicago police have accused a man with killing a mother and two daughters on the South Side.
Denzel Pittman, 18, is accused of killing 43-year-old Stacy Cochran-Hill and her daughters, Jade Hannah, 17, and Joi Cochran, 11, in the 11100 block of South Bell Avenue in the Morgan Park neighborhood, authorities said.
Pittman is reportedly the boyfriend of 17-year-old Hannah. He was charged with three counts of murder, police said, and was ordered held without bond during a court appearance Wednesday.
Police said Pittman and Hannah were involved in a domestic altercation late Monday at her home. He pulled out a knife, stabbed her and then turned on her sister and mother. The three were later found dead.
Witnesses told police they saw Pittman leaving the home and provided officers with a detailed description. Officers broadcast that description over the police radio and officers from the Targeted Response Unit found Pittman walking in the 2300 block of West 112th Street.
Pittman ran but was later arrested near Western and 112th Place.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Pittman had previously been charged with domestic battery for allegedly beating Jade Hannah at his Forest Park Home.
Pittman is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 20.
