Two young children were among three people critically injured in a car crash on Chicago's South Side early Friday, authorities said.
The two-car crash took place at around 6:15 a.m. in the 4900 block of South King Drive in the Bronzeville neighborhood, according to Chicago police.
A 3-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy were taken to Comer Children's Hospital in critical condition, fire officials said.
Authorities said a 23-year-old woman was also taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, and one person refused medical attention at the scene.
It was unclear what caused the crash and further details on the incident were not immediately available.
The investigation remained ongoing.
