Vertigo Launches Fire and Ice Winter Patio

Hot spot partners with AKIRA for fashionably frigid event

Seasoned scenesters know that rooftop lounges are where it's at, and hardy Chicago souls don't let a little thing like winter get in the way.

Vertigo Sky Lounge atop the Dana Hotel is proving a reason to take it outdoors with the re-launch of their famed Fire and Ice patio.

On January 13, the penthouse lounge is partnering with Akira for an icy hot event to christen the hot spot.

The 1,000 square-foot patio transforms into a sexy winter wonderland complete with a fully customized ice bar and a menu of sizzling shots to keep you toasty warm -- think flaming Dr. Pepper shots and flaming Irishman and Jaeger bombs.

You can also warm up by booking a table inside the lounge’s custom igloo while turning up your body temperature with the patio’s signature robes and blankets -- not to mention the crystalized fire pit.

At Friday's launch, AKIRA presents a fashion show filled with technicolor furs, gilded cocktail dresses and moon boots, not to mention a one-hour hosted Svedka bar with live ice sculpting.
