Luke Patrick Gildea faces two counts of unauthorized video recording, a felony.

The pin-hole camera was discovered by a student in the athletic locker room earlier in the day.

According to a letter sent to parents, a school resource officer and members of the Crystal Lake Police Department searched lockers at the school during the course of their investigation.

Authorities said they believe Gildea acted alone. Prosecutors said Friday in court that at least one victim recorded on the hidden camera was under the age of 18. There was only one morning of recordings found.

The school provided social workers, counselors and psychologists for any students who may need it.

If convicted Gildea would face two to five years in prison and a $25,000 fine. He would not have to register as a sex offender.

Gildea told the judge he would find his own attorney. As his father walked out of court Friday, he said his son is "a good kid."
